May highlights
This month the OPINION section of the publication has two differing viewpoints in the form of a point/counterpoint. The subject discussed is abortion; neither side of this argument reflects the views of Imagine Prep Surprise.
Be sure to check out the FEATURES section to get ideas for things to do this summer when you get bored or are stuck in the car for a road trip. Our NEWS section highlights Junior Colton McMurdie, teachers leaving the Prep and much more!
Happy reading and enjoy the summer. We'll be back next year with bigger and better content to come.

Join Journalism Club!
Journalism Club is a great way to get involved in an after school activity at Imagine Prep! The club meets every Monday from 4:00-5:00 in the Core Lab. Students are given the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of conducting interviews, writing articles and taking pictures. It is a great opportunity for students to improve their writing skills and develop professional interactions with their teachers and peers.
Journalism Club is open to all students! Email [email protected] with any questions!

Thank you, readers!
On behalf of the staff of Chasing the Storm, I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken time to read through this student publication. A lot of hard work has gone into making this publication the best it can be. The staff has worked to bring timely, useful and interesting news to the students, staff and families of Imagine Prep at Surprise.
These students strive to publish their best work, and have enjoyed all of the feedback the publication has received.
As the adviser of Chasing the Storm, I am extremely proud of these kids. Many of them have had no experience within the field of journalism and they hit the ground running. After the first issue of Chasing the Storm was published, almost all of my staff writers took it upon themselves to write multiple stories for the second and third issues of the publication. These kids truly want to report the happenings on campus and in the Surprise community. With that being said, feedback is always helpful! If you have any story ideas, questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
Thanks for reading! Tune in next semester for bigger and better content!
Happy holidays,
Michelle Meunier, Adviser

What should we name our mascot?
First of all, Chasing the Storm would like to thank Imagine Prep Eighth Grader, Raena Worstell, for creating this wonderful logo for our publication.
Our staff thought it would be a fun idea to have people submit their name ideas for this cool mascot. To submit a suggestion, email [email protected]. We hope to have a brand new name picked out by the time we publish our final issue for the 2016 calendar year.
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to contact a staff writer or the adviser, Ms. Meunier. We are always looking for creative, unique story ideas, so send them our way!
Thanks, and enjoy reading!
